MyWaterBill privacy policy

Last updated 18 October 2026

MyWaterBill is an app for iPhone and Android that shows a South Australian household its SA Water bills and water use. It is made by Cloud Paradigm Pty Ltd ("we"). It is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by SA Water.

What the app does with your information

Your mySAWater username and password are entered once and kept only in your phone's secure storage (the iOS Keychain or Android Keystore), marked as this-device-only so they are never copied into a backup or to another device. The app uses them for one purpose: to sign in to my.sawater.com.au on your behalf, exactly as a browser would, so it can read your account. They are never sent anywhere else.

Your account data (property address, account and meter numbers, bills, payments, meter readings and water-use figures) is read from mySAWater and kept on your phone so the app opens instantly. Your bill PDFs are downloaded to the app's private folder on your phone so their charges can be read and shown. None of this leaves your phone.

Your property's location. To show reported faults near your property, the app turns the property's street address into map coordinates once, using the phone's own geocoding service (Apple or Google, under their privacy terms), and keeps the result on the phone. On Android this needs the location permission; the app never reads where the phone is. Nearby faults come from SA Water's public works-and-faults feed, which is asked for the area around your property, not for anything that identifies you.

Face ID, Touch ID and fingerprint unlock is optional. The app only asks the phone whether you passed; it never sees biometric data.

What we do not do

We run no servers for this app and we receive nothing from it. There are no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no accounts with us. We cannot see your username, password, bills or usage.

When you open "Pay now", "Direct debit", "Meter reading", "Enquiry" or "Report a leak", the app shows SA Water's own web pages inside the app; what you do there is between you and SA Water under their terms and privacy policy.

Removing your information

Everything the app holds is on your phone. "Sign out" in Settings ends the session; saving a blank username and password forgets them; deleting the app removes the cached data and bill PDFs. Nothing is held anywhere else, so there is nothing for us to delete.
